Warranty Policy
General Warranty Policy:
Lineage Collections offers a one-year limited liability warranty on all furniture products delivered in the continental United States for defects in material or workmanship from the date of shipping. For lighting products, Lineage Collections offers a 90-day limited liability warranty. All factory defects or freight damages must be reported within 7 days of receipt. If freight damage exists, then either Lineage Collections or the customer will need to file a claim with the freight provider. The party that issued payment to the freight provider will be the party responsible for filing a claim with the freight provider and recouping any applicable losses.
The one-year limited liability warranty for defects in material or workmanship applies to normal use of the product in residential or commercial use, but does not cover abusive use or damage to the item due to abuse / misuse. To be clear, the one-year limited liability warranty does not cover negligence, mishandling of the products, or general wear and tear. Natural variations occur in wood grains, dye lots, and paint finishes and therefore are not warranted unless they are considered to be a defect, which is solely based on the opinion of Lineage Collections.
In the event that you need to make a warranty claim, please contact our office and provide the information on this form. Our internal quality control team will then determine the action needed to correct the problem based on the circumstances. Depending on the type of corrective action needed, we reserve the right to repair, replace, or refund your purchase at our discretion. If a repair is required, the repair service may be performed at the current location of the product or at our warehouse. In order to receive credit(s), all repairs must be authorized by Lineage Collections prior to the actual repair service being performed.
Freight Damage & Product Inspection Policy:
To help ensure any freight damage claims are resolved quickly, please inspect all shipments upon delivery.
If any cartons appear damaged upon delivery, please inspect them while the driver is still present whenever possible. If damage is found, refuse the damaged item(s) and note the damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing.
If you are unable to inspect the contents of visibly damaged cartons at the time of delivery, please note “Subject to Inspection” on the carrier’s delivery receipt for those specific cartons, and notify Lineage Collections as soon as possible. This helps preserve your ability to file a freight claim should concealed damage be discovered.
We understand that some products may be placed into storage, held for future delivery, or otherwise cannot be fully inspected immediately upon receipt. We will always make reasonable efforts to assist our customers; however, freight claims are time-sensitive. For this reason, we ask that all products be opened and inspected within 5 business days (7 calendar days) of receipt, and that any concealed damage or factory defects be reported promptly.
Please retain all original cartons, packaging materials, and damaged merchandise until the claim has been resolved. The carrier may require an inspection or may request that the item and packaging be made available for pickup. Failure to retain packaging materials may result in denial of the claim. The information required for damage claims is as follows:
- 1. Photos of the entire carton, including the shipping label
- 2. Photos of the entire item
- 3. Clear photos of the damage
- 4. The PO Number / Container Number (located on the back of the product and on the carton)
These procedures apply to both freight damage and factory defect claims.
